They converted the giraffe house into a 5 room hotel. Information technology was decorated with the erstwhile Catskills game farm signs. Our room was spacious but lacked quality soaps and shampoo. Surprisingly there was only one office of toilet paper in the room. At that place a kitchen where you were able to cook breakfast, I fabricated salary and eggs. The sometime park is in a state of ruins and was fun to explore. They have goats that roam the grounds, chickens and cows. It was a nice feel Written Oct 20, 2021 This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. Jon B Boston, MA 117 contributions Sep 2021 This was an incredible stay at the Long Neck Inn at the Old Catskills Game Subcontract. All of the staff was and so friendly and welcoming. I stayed in the Giraffe room which is the largest room and it was beautifully busy. Had a great time talking to the Director Moshe and Shawn the security caretaker was so great to talk to in answering many questions I had about the history of the farm. I spent eight hours exploring the grounds of the game subcontract and it was truly remarkable. Sid the owner has washed an amazing job at renovating the Giraffe barn and turning it into a stunning boutique hotel. It was a peaceful nights stay and just mesermerizing walking around taking beautiful photos of whats left of the over 120 buildings still standing of the game farm. I am excited about having the risk to come dorsum over again! This is truly a very unique experience that you lot cant find anywhere else! Jul 2021 what a bully time!! the inn was comfortable, clean and nosotros enjoyed touring the grounds as well. I loved trying to match up my quondam photos to the electric current location. Information technology was and then nostalgic to become dorsum and see the place that and so many of us spend part of our babyhood while on holiday! the only suggestion nosotros had was to put signs at the locations stating what might take been there or even have an former photo of how it looked. I promise you continue to restore this great property! Written August viii, 2021 This review is the subjective stance of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. Dec 2020 Booked The Long Cervix Inn with a group of friends and had a wonderful time. Information technology was a unique experience to stay at an onetime zoo turned hotel. The service was first-class. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and walking our canis familiaris (a few rooms are pet friendly) on the belongings. Cathy is a gracious host and exceedingly knowledgeable of the history of the Old Game Subcontract. The inn is impeccably decorated with memorabilia from the belongings giving it a nostalgic experience. Rooms are warm and cozy with all the amenities to be desired. We stayed in the elephant room. I wish we had left more time to bout the grounds and get some hiking in. Nosotros did wander the holding and explored many of the abandoned buildings which was a unique experience. Definitely worth a visit any fourth dimension of the year! Written November 12, 2019 This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. Sep 2019 We stayed at the Tentrr wooded site, which is a remote campsite on the grounds of the Former Game Farm. Nosotros as well had access to the Long Neck Inn. Cathy and Ben are fantastic hosts. They are both very friendly and accommodating, and each answered whatever questions nosotros had. Cathy was particularly knowledgeable about the history of the site, and shared with us their vision for the future. The Long Cervix Inn is beautiful. It has many mod accommodations, just it retains the look of a giraffe house. They have preserved many of the old signs from the Game Farm, which are beautiful (many are manus painted). The bathroom and kitchen facilities are gorgeous, and I enjoyed their java bar. We promise to be back old in the winter to stay at the Long Neck Inn and savor one of the guest rooms - I'yard sure they are as beautiful every bit the residuum of the Inn. Our tent at the wooded site was remote, tucked into ruins from a subcontract that predates the Game Farm. Everything was well kept, and we enjoyed the camping ground feel with a few added mod conveniences. Nosotros spent one day exploring the Quondam Game Subcontract. There are miles of trails and plenty of buildings to explore. If you're interested in Hudson Valley history, or if y'all visited the Old Game Farm every bit a kid, this is a existent care for. Sep 2018 • Couples It was prissy to spend a mean solar day hiking the old game farm. Although there are no animals almost everything else is intact. It was an easy walk filled with memories and would recommend this to anyone else who frequented the park before it closed. Nosotros would have preferred to have a bath on site. We walked the entire park in 4 hours. Written September 25, 2018 This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. Jul 2018 • Couples The One-time Game Farm was purchased by a immature couple who are trying to open information technology again, but not equally a traditional zoo. It is open for exploring every bit it has been aired on TV as 1 of America'south Abandoned Places. Information technology is no longer abandoned and is being upgraded. The old giraffe house has been transformed into an upscale venue for weddings and other events. It also has lodging facilities. There is also upscale luxury camping units with private settings. It is a great place to explore. Self-guided tours are available and dates are posted on the website. KDAA Due east Hartford, CT 689 contributions Jul 2018 • Couples I but went here in one case as a child and I don't really remember it (my wife didn't retrieve it either). However, that didn't cease us from thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to walk through the old park. This isn't an opportunity that is available often, and then it was really unique. It is a cracking identify to take pictures, especially if you are into old buildings and disuse. We spent hours hither walking effectually and taking pictures.
